Meet the Nowling Family

The Nowling family are Indiana natives through and through. Originally from Indianapolis, Mike and Cindy share a genuine passion for connecting people to Jesus, each other, and their purpose in Christ.

In 2013, while serving at their home church, Mike and Cindy were invited to lead an existing congregation located in Trafalgar, IN. They accepted the call and after almost a decade of ministry together in that community the Nowling’s began to feel God leading them to plant a church in the city of Franklin, IN.

The desire to plant a new church became a calling in 2021 when God spoke clearly to Mike to “Quit your job, raise funds, and plant a church.” Since launching in the Fall of 2023, Connection Pointe Church Franklin has been the culmination of that dream and calling.

Our Values

Our church culture and mission are driven by the following values.
We are committed to truth.

We TEACH and PREACH the Bible – depending on the service you visit, you will either be encouraged and instructed with a verse-by-verse teaching or inspired and challenged through anointed preaching.

MDWK Bible study. These services are intended to help us grow in our understanding of the Bible. Nothing cute or fancy – just a clear teaching from the Scripture. Learning what the Bible actually says through teaching on a specific verse, book, or subject is how we grow in our Faith.

Sunday Service – These services are where you will be stretched and inspired through passionate and anointed preaching. More than just a lesson, Sundays are where you hear a clear and powerful word from God. Sunday’s are intended to deepen your faith experience and activate your obedience toward God.

We are Spirit-filled.
We are just ordinary people that are hungry for a deeper experience with God. Our services are orderly but passionate and Spirit-led. It is not uncommon to see people raising or clapping their hands during worship. At the end of services you will see people coming down to the front to respond to the message and be prayed for. We invite you to come and experience God’s presence for yourself.
We are Family-focused.
Family is everything! We believe that a strong family is the foundation of a strong church and strong community. Throughout the year we will offer a variety of classes to help equip families to live according to their faith. Even if you don’t have a family of your own – we invite you to make Connection Pointe Church your family.
We are Community-centered.

God is doing amazing things in our community and it is our privilege to be a part of it! As we serve our neighbors through our M25 ministry, share the love of Jesus, or remind others they are loved by God – we are endeavoring to take hope of the gospel outside of the walls of our church buildings.

We practice kindness.
We really do love people and believe God does some of His best work through relationships. We are passionate about connecting people with God and each other and will always strive to create a place where outsiders can feel like they belong – even before they believe. Regardless of background, education, or ethnicity we believe life is best when we do it together. We don’t take ourselves too seriously and believe we can make our greatest impact through kindness and community.
We work hard.
We open doors and clean floors. At Connection Pointe we are not divas, we are servants. We call the team simply: The Serve Team. We are a team of servant leaders who put others before ourselves. The humility and servanthood of Jesus Christ is our supreme example of what it means to serve others.
We are striving for excellence but know we aren’t perfect.
We believe in doing things with excellence. When the church can marry evangelism with excellence we believe God is honored and outsiders are attracted. Just as Daniel in the Bible lived in a culture of non-believers yet was recognized as having an “excellent spirit”. We believe that living out our convictions with a spirit of excellence will be a witness to our secular culture.
We give honor.
We are endeavoring to live a life that honors God and others. We honor the spiritual leaders in our church family. We also honor the authority that God has placed in our city, state, and nation. We honor our parents. We honor God by honoring His Church and living according to His word. “Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honor one another above yourselves.” (Romans 12:10)
We live generously.
We believe it is our privilege to give. We give our time, talent, and treasure to God and His church. At Connection Pointe we practice tithing for the support of Christ’s Body, the church, as God commands. We believe giving 10% of our income is the Biblical starting place for giving our finances back to the Lord through the local church that God has called us to. Beyond our finances we are a church that is committed to the giving of ourselves to others.

Our Belief

About the Bible

The Bible is the inspired, inerrant, and perfectly preserved Word of God. It is true in all that it teaches. As the flawless Word of God, it is our only authority for what we believe and how we live.

2 Timothy 3:15-17

About God and Jesus

There is only one God. The One God has revealed Himself to us as our Father, in His Son Jesus Christ, and through the Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ is the Son of God, that is, the One God manifested in and through an authentic human life. The fullness of the godhead dwells in Jesus bodily. To see Jesus is to see God.

Deuteronomy 6:4; John 14:9; Ephesians 4:4-6; Colossians 2:9; 1 Timothy 3:16

About Sin and Salvation

Everyone has sinned and needs salvation. Salvation comes by grace through faith based on the atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ.

Romans 3:23-25; Romans 6:23; Ephesians 2:8-9

About the Gospel

The gospel is the good news that Jesus lived a perfect life, died for our sins, was buried, and rose again three days later. We express our belief in the gospel through our obedience to the gospel. We obey the gospel and apply it to our lives by repenting of our sins (death to sin), being baptized in water in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of our sins (burial), and receiving the gift of the Holy Spirit (resurrection). This threefold experience is the consistent pattern of conversion in the early church.

1 Corinthians 15:1-4; 2 Thessalonians 1:8; 1 Peter 4:17; Mark 1:15; Acts 15:7; Romans 6:3-4; Acts 2:4, 37-39; 8:9-17; 10:1-48; 19:1-7

Water Baptism

We believe that our faith in Jesus is expressed by calling on His name in the waters of baptism. Water Baptism is the loving command of Christ and all believers should in act in joyful obedience, identifying with Jesus in death to sin, burial of the old sinful nature, and resurrection to a new life.
Matthew 28:19; Acts 2:38, 8:12, 16, 36-38, 10:48, 19:5, 22:16; Mark 16:16; Romans 6:4; Colossians 2:12

Holy Spirit

We believe that the Holy Spirit is active in the world today and that the Baptism of the Holy Spirit is the promise of every believer. Jesus spoke of two types of baptism; water and Spirit. Jesus himself was baptized in the Jordan river by John the Baptizer. After His water baptism, the Spirit descended upon Jesus in a separate and unique experience. This is also the pattern of the New Testament Church throughout the book of Acts. We should follow the example of Jesus and the early disciples by being baptized in water and in the Holy Spirit.

Matthew 3:11; John 3:3-8; Acts 1:8, 2:38, 8:14-17, 10:44-48, 19:4-7

About Christian Living

As Christians we are to love God and love others. We are to worship God joyfully and seek to live a life that is pleasing to him both inwardly and outwardly—in our thoughts, words, and actions. We are empowered to live a life pleasing to God through the Holy Spirit. As a Spirit-filled church, we believe that the abiding fruit and supernatural gifts of the Spirit are at work in and for the church today and are available to all Spirit-filled believers.
